Been listening to “Meet the Beatles” a lot lately and I love the sound of John Lennon’s rhythm guitar on the early Beatles records.
His playing and sound on “I Want to Hold Your Hand” is just phenomenal, it’s got this almost gurgling, underwater sound to it. Those two chords at the beginning, the rhythm; exhilarating. [...]
